Winter Exhibition 2026
On an afternoon in 1916, tea is being served in the salon of the Hirsch fashion house on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam. Two models, the twin sisters Ippy and Gertie, present the latest collection to a select audience. Isaac Israels is there and captures the scene on a nearly life-size canvas. One sister looks away; the other meets the viewer’s gaze directly.
This painting is one of the highlights of our annual Winter Exhibition in Oosterbeek. Held in a private collection since 1965, the work is now on view at our gallery, alongside the other acquisitions we have carefully made this year.

The exhibition is open from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 December 2026, daily from 11.00 to 17.00.
