Over A. (ALFRED) HAZLEDINE

Alfred Hazledine followed a typical 19th century career as an artist in Belgium: trained in Brussels with renowned artists, joined the artist colony in Wechelderzande, became a member of Vie et Lumière, an association for impressionists and luminists that organized major exhibitions, and joined l'Espampe, founded in Brussels in 1906 to promote printmaking (etching). Hazledine painted mainly landscapes in the Impressionist style. As is often the case with artists, more is known about his works than is known about his personal life.
